FarmWeek - Hot weather to return next week

Hot weather to return next week
New-crop November soybean futures traded above $10 for first time in six months on Friday.  Midwest temperatures and rainfall will remain overall conducive to soy pod-setting but some hot weather in the Delta crop regions is causing some concern.

The latest 6-10 day forecast calls for much above normal temperatures, but also predicts above-normal rainfall.

Chicago wheat futures were boosted to a 13-month high on Friday by drought in Europe that is trimming crop prospects and cutting into exports from such key areas as the Black Sea region.

Chesapeake Energy's Mark Russo told the IFB Commodities Conference earlier this week that the drought in the Black Sea is just like the one Illinois experienced in 1988.
